New Chiropractic Patients
Are you considering chiropractic treatment? Yes? Then it’s perfectly natural to want to know about various chiropractic techniques, and which ones your chiropractor uses. In which case – what chiropractic techniques do we use at Evolve Chiropractic?
The answer is that we use a range of chiropractic techniques depending on individual patient circumstances.
From proven traditional methods to modern chiropractic advancements – this flexibility lets us customise our approach to meet specific treatment requirements. Our aim is to deliver holistic care and produce favourable outcomes.
So, in this post, we thought we’d explain our culture, discuss the chiropractic techniques we use, and consider their features and benefits.
At Evolve Chiropractic, we embrace ‘evolving’ approaches to chiropractic care. You could say it’s built into our practice!
Diversified has been around since the mid-1900’s and is still widely used today. There’s good reason for this – as the name indicates, it is easily adapted to suit a wide range of chiropractic conditions. It’s also generally considered safe by the broader medical and healthcare professions.
Diversified adjustments are always hands on.
Specifically, we apply targeted HVLA (high velocity, low amplitude) manual thrusts to misaligned spinal joints. The aim is to correct spinal dysfunction and restore proper function to the joint and surrounding tissues.
During a diversified adjustment, you may also hear that infamous ‘popping’ noise. This is just gas escaping from the manipulated joint!
Diversified has several key benefits:
SOT focuses on the relationship between the spine, pelvis (sacrum), and base of the skull (occiput). In particular, it aims to relieve stresses and correct imbalances between these structures to restore or improve overall functionality.
SOT practitioners also consider the broader picture, namely how issues such as pinched or irritated spinal nerves may affect the organs to which they’re attached. For example, pinched nerves in your neck vertebrae can impact your inner ear and olfactory function.
SOT can help relieve these problems by correcting the vertebra dysfunction that could be contributing to them.
During a SOT adjustment, we use special blocking techniques, cranial adjustments, and organ reflex manipulations to help balance your body and improve overall function.
Key benefits of the Sacro-Occipital Technique include:
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) evaluates and aims to improve craniosacral function.
Your central nervous system organs – brain and spinal cord – lie within several protective layers of membranes and a layer of (cerebrospinal) fluid.
CST applies light gentle non-invasive pressure to your skull, spine, and pelvis to help release tension and improve the flow of this fluid.
Consider Craniosacral Therapy as a:
British chiropractor John McTimoney developed his light, gentle alternative to traditional chiropractic methods after a first-hand experience with said techniques!
He also believed in a whole-body approach to treatment, and the importance of patient education.
Today, those light gentle adjustments and whole-body approach to wellness are still key features of the McTimoney Chiropractic method.
When performing a McTimoney adjustment, we apply quick, gentle, accurate adjustments to align your spine and other joints to help maintain your body’s overall balance and health.
The gentle approach of the McTimoney Chiropractic Method provides non-invasive holistic chiropractic care for all age groups with minimal discomfort both during and after procedures. Treatment plans also factor in your lifestyle and emotional wellbeing.
This makes McTimoney ideal for:
