3. St. Catherine’s Hill Walk: For a bit of exercise and panoramic views, hike up St. Catherine’s Hill. The hill is located just south of Winchester and offers a rewarding view of the city and surrounding landscapes from the top.
4. Itchen Navigation Walk: This is a longer walk that follows the historic Itchen Navigation canal. The trail takes you through beautiful countryside, wooded areas, and along the canal itself. You’ll also pass by charming villages and old locks.

6. South Downs Way: While not directly in Winchester, the South Downs Way is a famous long-distance trail that runs through the surrounding countryside. You can access portions of the trail from Winchester, offering breathtaking views of the South Downs National Park.
7. Winnall Moors Nature Reserve: A tranquil haven just a short distance from the city center, Winnall Moors is a wetland nature reserve perfect for birdwatching and enjoying the natural beauty of the area.
8. Wolvesey Walk: This walk takes you around the ruins of Wolvesey Castle, the former Bishop’s Palace. It’s a short but interesting stroll, offering a glimpse minto Winchester’s history.
